Welcome to Cherry Surrey. You might know us as Surrey Resin. Same team, same standards, we’re just bringing everything under the Cherry name so it’s clearer who you’re working with.

We install resin bound driveways in Surrey, plus patios and paths, with a focus on getting the base right. Because the top layer is what you see but the structure underneath is what decides how the surface behaves in 2, 5, 10 years.

resin bound driveway

What is resin bound?

Resin bound is natural stone mixed with a clear resin and laid as a smooth, seamless surface. It’s popular across Surrey because it looks clean, feels solid underfoot, and it’s designed to drain water through the surface rather than leaving you with puddles.

It’s also a great “middle ground” for homeowners who want something smarter than tarmac, less fussy than block paving, and far more practical than loose gravel.

Why homeowners in Surrey choose resin bound

Why homeowners in Surrey choose resin bound?

  • Puddle-free drainage: a permeable finish designed to let water pass through

  • Weed resistant: helps reduce growth compared with joints and gaps

  • No loose stones: cleaner than gravel, no migration into the road or house

  • Low maintenance: sweeping and the occasional wash is usually enough

  • Premium kerb appeal: a consistent, high-end finish that lifts the whole frontage

A quick note, because it matters: resin bound is only as good as the build-up underneath. That’s where most problems start when corners get cut.

Cherry Surrey and Surrey Resin: what’s changing (and what isn’t)

We’re transitioning from Surrey Resin to Cherry Surrey, so each county sits under one clear brand: Cherry.

What isn’t changing is how we work:

  • the same installation team

  • the same approach to specification

  • the same focus on proper preparation and tidy finishing

  • the same Surrey coverage

For now, SurreyResin.uk stays as the Surrey-specific site for finishes, galleries and enquiries.

More than just resin driveways

Resin surfacing we install across Surrey

Resin bound isn’t only for driveways. It’s a smart choice for awkward outdoor areas where you want it to look good, stay practical, and not become a maintenance project.

Resin bound driveways

Our most common installation. Ideal for replacing worn tarmac, tired block paving, patchy concrete or messy gravel.

Resin patios and seating areas

A clean, modern finish that helps tie the garden and house together. Works especially well where you want a neat edge and fewer joints.

Resin paths, entrances and side returns

Perfect for front paths and awkward side access routes that are currently cracked, uneven or muddy.

Pool surrounds and leisure areas

A smart, seamless finish that keeps the area looking tidy and underfoot comfortable. Works well where you want good drainage, clean edging, and fewer joints to maintain.

Borders, edgings and detailing

Edging and border details make the whole job look intentional. We’ll recommend what suits the style of your home, not just what looks good on a brochure.

Areas we cover in Surrey

We install resin bound surfaces across Surrey, including: Guildford, Woking, Farnham, Godalming, Leatherhead, Epsom, Cobham, Weybridge, Camberley, Redhill, Reigate, Dorking, Cranleigh, Caterham, Oxted, West Byfleet, Surbiton and nearby.

The build-up we use (every full dig job)

1. Excavate and prepare the area

2. Install a compacted Type 3 MOT sub-base

3. Add Vuba SRM (Structural Reinforcement Mesh)

4. Install the VubaMac system

5. Add SRM again (second reinforcement layer)

6. Apply the resin bound surface in your chosen colour

Why we build it this way

Most people start with the colour (and honestly, that’s the fun part). But the real difference in a resin driveway is what’s underneath. Our full dig build-up is designed to do four things:

Solid underfoot

Create a firm, stable foundation that feels secure day to day.

One system, not separate layers

Help every layer work together, rather than moving or behaving differently over time.

Built to reduce movement risk

Minimise the chance of issues caused by settlement or minor ground movement.

A cleaner finish on top

Support a smooth, consistent resin surface that stays looking sharp.

Reviews

Very very good from start to finish.

We had a resin patio laid, and after Russell carried out the survey and quote, their team led by Adam arrived on the Monday and worked incredibly hard for two days to deliver a great final finish. They went above and beyond to suggest improvements to the garden design, and were attentive and keen to please. Excellent stuff, highly recommended team. Thank you.

Great Company

Amazing company to work with from start to finish. The driveway looks amazing. On top of this the team who did the great work were polite, friendly, tidy and even took the time to chat to our kids! A great experience. Can’t recommend more.

Trafalgar School Quad

Many thanks to Russell, Bill and Laura for producing a wonderful space that can now be utilised in our School. A special thanks to Adam and his crew for staying on to get the Quad finished. You are all stars!! If you could see the Students out there now you would see how important it was to get this area developed. Thank you all so much.

Cherry homes were outstanding from start to finish.

The finished product truly finished off our extensive home renovations. Their product, professionalism and ultimate finish has left our driveway the envy of our street. Communication throughout was second to none. The team that laid the driveway were masters of their art. They started work at 9am and didnt stop until they were finished at the end of the day. We are so happy with the resin finish of our driveway that we are looking at having them return to lay a resin patio. You will not regret reaching out to Cherry home improvements to lay a resin driveway

I would recommend to anyone.

We met with several companies before choosing Cherry Home Improvements to complete our driveway. From the first meeting with Russell we were impressed by his professionalism & knowledge which was carried forward to installation of our driveway by his incredibly skilled team. Following a large home renovation we have met several tradespeople but never with such an exceptional work ethic, the Cherry Home Improvements team are total perfectionists.

Russ and Alan have been fantastic from start to finish!

I enquired about a media wall before in October and didn’t complete on my new property until January but Russ checked in now and then and kept in contact the whole time! Extremely helpful when it came to delivery and felt like I could trust Russ from the get go. Absolutely great service and Alan did an amazing job at fitting it. I absolutely love my media wall, couldn’t recommend enough! Thanks so much to both Russ and Alan!

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you Surrey Resin or Cherry Surrey?

Both. We’re transitioning from Surrey Resin to Cherry Surrey as part of the wider Cherry Home Improvements group. Same team, same standards, clearer branding.

Do resin bound driveways get puddles?

Resin bound is designed to be permeable, meaning water drains through the surface rather than pooling on top (when installed on the correct base).

Is resin bound low maintenance?

Yes. It’s typically easy to keep clean, weed-resistant, and doesn’t have loose stones like gravel.

How long does installation take?

Many projects are completed in 1–3 days, depending on size and site conditions.

When can I walk or drive on it?

Typically you can walk on it after around 24 hours and drive on it after around 72 hours, depending on the weather. We’ll confirm timings on the day because temperature makes a difference.

Can resin bound go over my existing surface?

In many cases resin can be installed over existing concrete or tarmac (subject to survey).

Do you always use VubaMac?

Yes. Our resin installations are built around the Vuba system, and we use VubaMac as part of our standard approach. On full dig jobs, we install Type 3 MOT, SRM, VubaMac, SRM again, then the resin bound surface in your chosen colour.

What is SRM and why do you use it twice?

Yes. Our resin installations are built around the Vuba system, and we use VubaMac as part of our standard approach. On full dig jobs, we install Type 3 MOT, SRM, VubaMac, SRM again, then the resin bound surface in your chosen colour.

Can you do borders and contrasting edges?

Yes. Borders are a really popular way to frame the driveway, sharpen the lines, and make the whole frontage look more intentional. We can talk you through options that suit the style of your home.

Can resin bound go over my existing driveway?

Sometimes. If your current base is sound (often concrete or tarmac), an overlay may be possible. We’ll confirm after photos or a quick site check.
